SEN Theatre

Don’t like loud noises or dark rooms, clapping or loud speaker announcements or just feel uncomfortable walking into new unfamiliar places?

Would you like to go out and enjoy theatre as a family without the stress and worry of a meltdown and no-one understanding?

Do you know someone with Special Educational Needs who would love to access theatre, films, events or workshops specifically designed to be aware of their needs?

We are very excited to announce that the Blakehay Theatre with Weston-super-Mare Town Council are compiling a grant application to be able to bring regular events and performances to the theatre specifically designed for children and families with Sensory and Special Educational Needs!

Unfortunately the theatre was unsuccessful in a grant application in 2018/2019, however we are in the process of applying through another source, to hopefully be able to bring you SEN Theatre from October 2020.

All information about the process and how we are getting on will be updated on this page so please check back for updated information.

In the meantime we are proud to bring you a relaxed performance this Christmas of A Christmas Carol as a relaxed performance, Saturday 14th December at 11am.

Please share this information to anyone you feel would benefit from dedicated regular events for families and children with SEN, and we look forward to seeing you at one of our events!

If you would like to find out more about being involved please contact;
